The House of Latex, HOL, is a legendary ever-walking, ever-serving house that represents at balls and within the community. We were founded in 1989 at the Eddie Africa ball when members of the ballroom community and employees of Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC) decided to make a change and work together. We support the efforts of youth and young adults to stay healthy and prevent the spread of HIV.

HOL promotes the idea of getting your groove on while still protecting yourself and finding ways to put yourself in less danger and still do you. We provide safer sex education, conduct outreach at balls, clubs, and street venues. HOL also makes referrals for testing, counseling and other services. Ten years and beyond we will keep walking, keep serving, and keep educating.
